- The German robotics company Festo developed bionic birds. Their work BionicSwift uses ultra-lightweight construction and artificial feathers. The birds are guided by GPS sensors and move along a pre-programmed flight path, but in the event of an unforeseen factor such as a gust of air, radio communication enables them to change their flight path immediately. Festo anticipates that the robot can be used in factories for e.g. moving materials.
- Barcelona started to use the AI in the subway trains to limit the spread of coronavirus. The RESPIRA platform from SENER Engineering is equipped with the AI system and provides real-time readings of temperature, humidity, air quality and electricity consumption in the metro stations and then runs the intelligent ventilation system to maximize fresh air, regulate temperature, humidity and help to stop the spread of coronavirus – LINK
